Discipleship Practice –

Daily Prayer

Goal:  To strengthen our personal relationship with God and our church through the Holy Spirit and Jesus in daily prayer.

Objectives:

A.       All people are encouraged to spend time each day in talking with God.

B.      To lift up our church so that we may have Jesus Christ as our leader.

C.      To remember those in our church and community who are in need of help.

D.      To remember those in our church and community who are a blessing.

E.       To thank God for all the good things and good people in our lives

F.       To know that God is present and acts in our daily lives.

Application:

A.        All members and friends of the church can pray daily to God.

B.      Prayers should be said at a time of day where we are awake and alert.

C.      Distractions should be minimalized as much as possible.

D.      We should use the daily prayer of the church and other resources to guide our prayers.

E.       Prayers can be done individually, as a couple, and even as a family.

Practicing our Spirituality

Every week, I will be sharing a practice that you can try at home alone or with your family to give you peace and courage in these times.

Prayer and Healing:

Consider the following ideas –

· How have you experienced healing, or have experienced in others, in terms of physical, psychological, spiritual, community, and nature?

· How did prayer and faith play a part in these times?

· How do these experiences or lack of them affect your prayer life and your faith journey?

· What can we do, as a church, to enhance or strengthen healing in our church and community?
