“All families are messy and complicated, but we wouldn’t trade them because there is also love and grace and support. Churches are the same. For us to go to a church and expect only to be uplifted, made comfortable, and happy is turning the church into a movie theater or concert. We are called to disagree with each other, struggle, and get our egos bruised. When we learn better how to love each other, we will better at loving God and our neighbors.”
